Adjustable Belt Closure
Helping to make CONVERTIBLE™ fit like a pair of jeans and to keep the added length and fullness in the seat under control, the pants are secured with an attached belt with an adjustable high-temp polymer buckle. With this feature, you may find that you don't need suspenders to hold your pants up!
Storm Fly Front
Vertical hook and loop storm fly combines with the belt for fast and secure donning.
AXTION ™ Seat (Patented)
When you bend your knees, the revolutionary CONVERTIBLE™Pants allow for the added length and fullness you need in the seat. Not only can you step up with complete mobility, but when you kneel your knees are directly over the knee pads without any twisting of the leg. When you try on a pair, you'll immediately appreciate just how dramatic this difference is.
Cargo Pockets
Side pockets with BDU-style expansion pleats and flaps with hook and loop closure are positioned on each thigh for ready access and storage. An extra layer of shell fabric reinforces the lower half of the pocket for longer wear.
Removable Free-Hanging Barrier
2-layer laminated barrier is more flexible and allows for customization of the separate outer shell fabric layer without penetrating the CROSSTECH® barrier. The barrier is secured with snaps under the waistband and with snap tabs at the cuff so that the barrier can be removed when conditions change.
AXTION™ Knee (Patented)
Horizontal pleats built into the shell and corresponding darts in the liner on the front of each leg provide extra length where you need it for stepping up, sitting down, kneeling, or crawling. The fronts of the legs are wider than the back to provide more fullness over the knee where you want it and less bulk under the knee where you don't. Side seams are rolled toward the back of the legs keeping them out of the primary abrasion area. Together with the AXTION™Seat, this system allows you to bend your knees with complete mobility.
Optional SILI ZONE™Foam Knees
Knees can be padded with SILIZONE™foam padding to make crawling almost heavenly.
Choice of Flame-Resistant Outer Shell Fabrics
Choose from NOMEX® IIIA or MILLENIA™ LIGHT outer shell fabric treated with Shelltite™ durable water repellent finish for weather and stain resistance, or PBI TriGuard™ 590 with StayDry Plus®.
Flame-Resistant CROSSTECH® S/R fabric
CROSSTECH® S/R fabric is an intimate bi-component membrane that is laminated to a flame-resistant NOMEX® IIIA woven fabric. This fabric is highly breathable and liquid penetration resistant to blood, body fluids, common accident scene chemicals*, and water, providing comfort and heat stress relief unmatched by any other liquid barrier.
Optional Knee and Cuff Reinforcement
Knees and cuffs may be reinforced with an extra layer of your choice of materials, double-stitched for extended wear.
Diamond Crotch Gussett
Distributes fabric stress over five double-stitched seams in both the shell and the liner.
Optional Reflective Trim / TRIMTRAX™ Thread Protection System
3M SCOTCHLITE™ reflective material in 2" or 3" triple trim design is available in your choice of lime/yellow (silver center) or red/orange (silver center) to provide day/night visibility. Our patented TRIMTRAX™ system of abrasion resistant KEVLAR® cording protects the thread securing our reflective trim from abrasion. Lasts 5 times longer than conventional trim stitching so maintenance costs are lower and your gear is in service more often.
Optional Suspenders
Padded H-Back Rip-Cord suspenders attach to horizontal loops sewn to the top of the waistband so that there is no metal hardware to dig into your waist or get caught up. H-Back design stays on your shoulders; rip-cord hardware allows easy adjustment and quick release. Includes integral padded shoulder straps.
Taped Seams
All seams and stitching through the CROSSTECH® S/R fabric are sealed with GORE-SEAM® tape on proprietary GORE-SEAM® sealing machines, utilizing the latest technology from W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
Reverse Boot Cut
Pant legs are 1" shorter in the back so you don't step on them and to avoid premature cuff wear.
Zippered Legs
Long, smooth sliding polymer zippers on the shell of each leg allow the pants to go on and off easily over footwear. The liner has a gusset to provide uninterrupted barrier protection. Take up strap is secured with hook and loop fastener to tighten down over boots.
