Globe, DuPont Protection Technologies (DuPont), and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) have announced the second round of winners in the 2015 Globe Gear Giveaway. This is the fourth year that Globe has partnered with DuPont and the NVFC to provide volunteer departments with critically needed sets of turnout gear. The Georgetown (ME) Volunteer Fire Department and North Fork (ID) Fire Protection District will each be outfitted with four sets of new, state-of-the-art Globe turnout gear.

For the fourth year, Globe, DuPont Protection Technologies (DuPont), and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) have partnered to provide new, state-of-the-art turnout gear to fire departments in need. Through the 2015 Globe Gear Giveaway Program, 13 departments from the United States and Canada will each receive four sets of gear. This year’s first three recipients are the South Amboy (NJ) Fire Department, Koosharem (UT) Fire Rescue, and L’Orignal Fire Department (Ontario, Canada).

Corporate Supporters Raise Funds at FDIC International 2015
Globe Manufacturing Company continued its partnership with the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund at FDIC International 2015, the nation’s largest firefighter training conference and exhibition held April 23-26 in Indianapolis. With its supplier partner, 3M, Globe invited attendees to try its new G-XTREME® 3.0 turnout gear on the Globe Virtual Firefighter Athletic Circuit and committed to make a donation to the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund in each firefighter’s name. This year Globe had firefighters spin a wheel to determine the donation – $10, $20, $50, or $100. In total, Globe and 3M donated $28,080 to the Fund from the Globe Virtual Firefighter Athletic Circuit at FDIC.

for firefighter turnout gear, W. L. Gore & Associates has worked with fire departments,
dealers, and manufacturers throughout North America to assess and reseal, as necessary,
the seams of turnouts with Gore moisture barriers. In the first two months since the Alert,
Gore has successfully remediated both stored and worn gear for metropolitan and volunteer
departments that enrolled early-on in the remediation program. Industry response has been
positive to Gore's remediation program, and Gore will continue to collaborate with all
responding departments on potentially affected gear.
